Hypebeast Magazine Issue 19 : The Temporal Issue

RHEST, an acronym for Rhythms, Enunciation & Style, is a creative studio and an online design book store based in a Atteridgeville, a township west of Pretoria. RHEST in association with Hunting For Kicks presents Hypebeast Magazine launch pop-up, a library featuring fine street knowledge and conversations.

Situated in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, the Hypebeast Magazine Launch Pop-up, seeks to launch the latest Hypebeast Magazine, Issue 19, The Temporal Issue. The chief aim of this Issue 19 is to examine the notion of impermanence, an idea especially poignant in today’s culture of hype where trends die premature deaths after the briefest of moments in the limelight. This theme is brought to life by exploring labels of varying ages such as century-old, distinguished craftsmanship of Goyard, as well as 2 of the most relevant retail destinations of our time in Colette as well as Dover Street Market. As it is accustomed with Hypebeast Magazine’s quality design and editorial, Hypebeast sat with “The King,” LeBron James, to chat about the future of NBA players, on being a cultural figure and using influence in the right ways – in short, about everything but basketball.

A library featuring fine street knowledge and conversations fittingly plays host to Hypebeast Magazine The Temporal Issue, in a South African inspired library which will host an episode of Hunting of Kicks, a selection of design books and magazines, local artists as well as a backdrop for pioneering conversations with design enthusiasts at 155 Smit Street on Thursday the 12th to 16th of October.
